The Ohio-Kentucky Consortium is pleased to announce the following awardees of the Peter D. Mosher Education Leadership Conference Scholarship:

Maggie Cannon

Michelle Menner

Anna Lynd, PT, DPT earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Alabama in 2017 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mount St. Joseph University in 2020. She has five years of experience in inpatient settings, including acute care, critical care, inpatient psychiatry, and skilled nursing. Anna has served as an adjunct professor for four years in the Acute Care and Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy course at Mount St. Joseph University and has been a dedicated clinical instructor for the past three years. She was honored with the 2024 Outstanding Clinical Instructor Award from the University of Cincinnati and the Warren Bennis Leadership Institute Award, which supported her attendance at a leadership conference focused on advancing student education in clinical practice. Anna is passionate about fostering student growth through collaboration, critical thinking, self-reflection, and exposure to high-acuity patient care. This is her first time attending the Educational Leadership Conference, and she looks forward to strengthening her mentorship skills and gaining new strategies to bring back and share with fellow clinical instructors.

Maggie Cannon, PT, DPT, WCC serves as Site Coordinator for Clinical Education at Baptist Health Lexington (BHL) in Lexington, KY. Maggie is Wound Care Certified through NAWCO and was recently promoted to Acute Care Physical Therapy Manager at BHL. Over the last four years, Maggie has strived to make both necessary and innovative changes to the clinical education program at BHL to improve the experience for both incoming students and their clinical instructors. Maggie has developed CI training for her employees and has instituted a mentor system to allow newer CIs to pair with experienced CIs for a 1 Student:2 CI ratio. Maggie continues to take a hands-on approach to clinical education, serving as both a CI and SCCE. When she's not an instructor, she meets regularly with both students and their CIs to ensure that the clinical experience is progressing as expected and to conduct troubleshooting along the way. Maggie remains dedicated to providing excellent clinical education to students while supporting and encouraging staff to share not only their knowledge, but also their experience and compassion as we train the next generations of physical therapists.

 

Michelle Menner, PT, DPT, CBIS Michelle Menner is a Physical Therapist III at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where she serves as a dedicated member of the Outpatient Neuro-Rehabilitation Team and the Motion Analysis Team. She also contributes her expertise to the Homecare and Starshine Hospice programs and is an active participant in the division’s Cerebral Palsy Team Clinic.

Michelle earned her Master of Physical Therapy in 1999 and later completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2016. She is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, with a strong clinical focus on pediatric neurorehabilitation.

Driven by a passion for mentorship and education, Michelle developed a pediatric mentoring program at her alma mater to support students with a special interest in pediatrics. This initiative offers valuable guidance and hands-on, community-based

learning experiences. In addition to her clinical and mentoring roles, Michelle serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Mount Saint Joseph, where she teaches Neurorehabilitation and mentors future physical therapists in this specialized field.
